Award Winning, Environmentally Friendly Products
Brivis’s product development philosophy is to manufacture products that are environmentally friendly and energy efficient. They have won many Galaxy Energy Awards for the most energy efficient gas ducted furnace in Australia. In fact, they have won the award six years in a row! Brivis have been working to extend this strategy to its manufacturing processes and the Energy Smart Awards also recognises this.
Brivis Australia was also a finalist for the Galaxy Star Award which recognizes Australia's most energy efficient star-rated gas appliances. To even be considered or these awards, the product must have a minimum five star rating.
The Galaxy Award winning Multiplex Series are high efficiency five star gas ducted heating units. The models include internal and external units: MPS HE20e, HE20i, HE20eXA, HE20iXA, HE30e, HE30i, HE30eXA and HE30iXA.
What is a Galaxy Award?
Sponsored by the Australian Gas Association, the Galaxy Gas Product Award recognises the market’s top energy star rated gas appliances.
The winner must demonstrate a clear energy efficiency advantage by comparison with other similarly-classed appliances.
The Gas Energy Rating
Purchase price, visual appeal, and brand are the features most people look at when buying their home heating system. However, another aspect that should be considered is the ongoing running cost.
It is important therefore to check the energy efficiency of the system and this is where the Energy Rating is important.
The Australian Gas Association rates all new heaters for their energy efficiency and most of the top brands will carry Energy Rating labels to help you compare the energy efficiency of different models in the same situation.
The idea is, the more stars, the more money you will save over the life of the product and also the better it will be for the environment. A 1-star improvement can give savings of around 6% of running costs.
2001 Environmental Excellence Award
An eco-friendly approach is an integral part of the way Brivis is managed. The Environmental Excellence Award recognised Brivis Australia for their outstanding commitment to reducing their impacts on the environment in the process of producing and distributing domestic appliances.
The company’s commitment to environmental management has, in recent years, reduced its electricity consumption by 400,000 kWh/year and natural gas usage by 1100 GJ per year - a 30 percent saving in gas consumption.
The low level of energy consumption has been achieved primarily through the use of skylights, lighting controls and sensors in individual rooms, turning off lights when a room isn’t occupied. Additional measures to save energy include:
- preventative maintenance programs
- highly efficient gas-fired radiant heaters for heating
- high volume evaporative coolers for cooling
- computer controlled robots for welding, folding and trimming
- waste management procedures
- AC servo motors to operate most machinery
